When I got this, I didn't expect anything spectacular, just jewelry that would at least hold up. But I wore it in a fresh piercing and it has healed quite nicely! That can only mean that it's fairly good quality stainless steel. I have very sensitive skin, but this didn't irritate my body at all. Absolutely worth it!
